Ctrip Hotel Availability Dataset: Scope and Access

Ctrip Hotel Availability Dataset: Fields, API & Access Options

Need a Ctrip hotel availability dataset for room-offer research, rate benchmarking or travel distribution analysis? A useful dataset must connect each availability signal to its hotel, room, stay dates, guest configuration, currency and observation time.

Trip.com Group documents a partner-oriented hotel availability API, but published API fields do not establish access to Ctrip's China-market inventory or permission to redistribute the data.

NenoData supports custom travel dataset projects built around agreed sources, field requirements, validation rules and delivery needs. A Ctrip-specific dataset, live availability feed or historical archive must be assessed for authorization and feasibility before it can be offered.

No existing NenoData Ctrip availability dataset, partner API entitlement, historical archive or live feed is pre-confirmed.

Ctrip vs Trip.com: Which Hotel Data Source?

Ctrip (携程) and Trip.com are part of Trip.com Group Limited. The Group's official brand descriptions identify Ctrip as a major China-focused travel platform and Trip.com as an international booking service. Its investor FAQ also distinguishes the mainland-China consumer brands from the international Trip.com business.

That distinction matters for availability data. A hotel listed on Ctrip may also appear on Trip.com, but a shared property does not establish that the same rooms, prices, inventory conditions or booking eligibility are presented in both channels. Differences may arise from point of sale, market locale, currency, guest configuration, distribution agreements and commercial offers.

Before defining a dataset, establish whether the requirement concerns:

  • Ctrip's China-focused website or another authorized Ctrip channel.
  • The international Trip.com booking platform.
  • A specific approved partner API or commercial data agreement.
  • Independently licensed hotel availability records covering selected Chinese destinations.

Trip.com partner API documentation is relevant technical evidence, not proof that the documented responses reproduce Ctrip's consumer-market inventory.

What Does Hotel Availability Mean?

Hotel availability describes whether an accommodation offer is bookable or presented as available under a defined search context. It is not necessarily a measure of the number of physically vacant rooms at the property.

Availability is best understood at three levels.

Hotel-level availability

A source may indicate whether a hotel has an eligible offer for the requested stay. This does not establish availability for every room category.

Room or rate-plan availability

A particular room type and its associated commercial conditions may be available or unavailable for the supplied dates, occupancy and booking market.

Observed availability at a point in time

A response or approved observation records what the source reported when the request was made. The result can change and should retain its timestamp.

Trip's Hotel Availability Checking API documentation includes a hotel-level Hotel_Availability field and a room-related Holdroom field. Their documented meanings relate to hotel availability and room availability amounts within the API's response model.

These fields should not be treated as direct access to a hotel's property-management system or verified measurements of physical occupancy.

An unavailable hotel offer does not necessarily mean the hotel is full. It may reflect sold-out inventory in that channel, booking restrictions, an unsupported search context or another source-side limitation.

For approved multi-OTA availability research, see NenoData's OTA Data Scraping Services.

Potential Ctrip Hotel Availability Dataset Fields

The following field dictionary is grounded in the publicly documented Trip partner hotel availability interface and general requirements for a well-structured dataset.

It is a proposed schema, not a real Ctrip extract, an existing NenoData dataset or a guarantee that every field is available through authorized Ctrip access.

Trip's API 2.0 documentation describes JSON-based requests and responses, separate adult and child inputs, room details, price breakdowns and query identifiers. The names above follow the published field terminology where available.

The schema combines API-documented fields with recommended NenoData dataset-design fields such as capture timestamps and validation status. The latter are proposed processing metadata, not necessarily native API response fields.

Ctrip Hotel Availability API and Partner Access

Is there an official hotel availability API?

Yes. Trip provides public technical documentation for its partner-oriented Hotel Availability Checking API 2.0. The official documentation discusses HTTP POST requests, JSON data exchange, requested dates, hotel identifiers, guest configuration, pricing and availability fields.

However, an official API specification is not the same as open access to a production API or a Ctrip China-market data license.

What partner credentials are required?

Trip's official partner API self-testing tool identifies AllianceID (AID), UserKey, SID, a generated UUID and authentication token, and relevant request settings including hotel identifiers, stay dates, currency, occupancy, POS and language. The tool labels key credential inputs as provided by Ctrip. This supports the conclusion that the documented interface is intended for authorized partner use, not unrestricted anonymous access.

NenoData does not claim to possess partner credentials or have existing entitlement to this interface.

Potential authorized access routes

  1. 1

    Official partner API agreement

An eligible business may pursue or use an appropriate Trip/Ctrip partner integration, subject to credential issuance, technical requirements and applicable commercial terms. The agreement must cover the intended access, retention, use and any redistribution.

  2. 2

    Direct source permission or licensing

A separate written agreement may be relevant when the buyer requires a specific Ctrip consumer-channel dataset or particular commercial data rights. Do not assume that the international Trip partner documentation establishes those rights.

  3. 3

    Independently licensed hotel availability data

An approved hotel distribution, OTA or specialist travel-data provider may supply permitted availability observations for the markets of interest. Such records must retain their true source and should not be relabeled as direct Ctrip observations.

  4. 4

    Buyer-provided authorized data

A buyer may already hold licensed partner exports, authorized snapshots or historical files. If the applicable agreement permits processing, these can be assessed for normalization, validation, property matching and delivery.

If no suitable authorization can be established, a project may remain at the feasibility or schema-design stage.

Hotel Availability Snapshots vs Historical Data

A current availability request and a historical availability dataset are different products.

AttributeAvailability snapshotHistorical series
DefinitionA source observation for specified hotel, room, dates and guest context at one capture time.Multiple retained observations collected at different times under an authorized schedule or obtained from existing licensed archives.
CoveragePoint-in-time availability for an authorized request.Time-series records showing how availability changed across observations.
Use caseCurrent channel monitoring, rate research, live offer comparison.Trend analysis, seasonal patterns, distribution channel research.
NenoData statusSubject to authorization and technical feasibility. No existing Ctrip archive verified. Requires retained observations or licensed historical source.

For recurring monitoring, a data model should preserve both stay dates (when the customer intends to occupy the room) and observation date and time (when the availability status was obtained). These are separate dimensions.

Repeated observations about a future stay can show how a channel's displayed offers change as that stay approaches. But those changes cannot, by themselves, establish actual bookings, cancellations, overall occupancy or every room held across distribution channels.

NenoData does not claim an existing Ctrip availability archive, the ability to reconstruct unobserved historical responses or a preconfigured refresh schedule.

How to Compare Room Rates and Availability

Hotel rates and availability should be evaluated together, using comparable search inputs. A proposed comparison should retain:

  • Hotel and room identity: The property and accommodation category.
  • Check-in and check-out: The same stay period.
  • Length of stay: Number of nights included.
  • Guest count: Adults and children, including age-related conditions where relevant.
  • Point of sale: The requested booking market.
  • Currency: Original displayed or returned currency.
  • Rate basis: Average nightly rate versus full-stay amount.
  • Taxes and fees: Inclusion and breakdown of charges.
  • Meal and payment conditions: Breakfast, prepaid or pay-at-property terms where available.
  • Availability status: The precise scope of the status or room-availability amount.
  • Observation timestamp: When the authorized result was recorded.
  • Source provenance: Whether the observation came from Ctrip, Trip.com or another licensed channel.

The official partner specification includes Price, BasePrice, TaxFee, TotalPrice and related totals, supporting the need to distinguish nightly and full-stay price components.

A difference in rates may be caused by currency, promotions, room conditions or point of sale rather than a meaningful market price change. An absence of an available offer should not automatically be counted as a hotel closing or reaching full occupancy.

For broader rate comparison, see Hotel Pricing Monitoring.

Uses for Authorized Hotel Availability Data

Booking-channel availability monitoring

Travel distribution teams may want to observe whether selected room offers remain available through an approved channel across specified dates. A structured snapshot process can help identify changes in the channel's displayed availability while keeping the original search context.

Hotel rate benchmarking

Revenue analysts may compare properly authorized hotel offers across properties, stay dates and room conditions. The dataset should preserve the actual booking channel, currency, tax basis and observation time.

Room-offer and product research

Travel-tech companies may need to understand room categories, bed configurations, included services and rate restrictions. A normalized room-offer schema can help compare permitted records without treating differently named rooms as automatically identical.

Distribution analytics

OTA and hotel distribution teams may assess differences in observed listings and bookable offers across authorized sources. The analysis should distinguish channel signals from a hotel's internal physical inventory and retain source-level provenance.

Hotel dataset feasibility planning

Data engineers and hospitality teams may first need a schema, access-right review or limited feasibility assessment rather than a production dataset. That assessment can define relevant fields, official API eligibility, alternative sources, data quality rules and possible delivery structures.

How NenoData Would Assess the Dataset Requirement

NenoData's published Travel Dataset service describes custom datasets scoped around approved sources, buyer-defined fields, collection windows, validation and delivery requirements. A Ctrip-related enquiry would be assessed through four conditional stages.

  1. 1

Step 1 — Define the dataset requirement

Confirm the intended Ctrip or Trip.com source, Chinese destinations, hotel set, stay dates, room detail, guest configuration and business use.

  2. 2

Step 2 — Establish authorized access

Review buyer-held partner permissions, official API eligibility, direct licensing or independently authorized alternative feeds.

  3. 3

Step 3 — Design and validate the schema

Separate hotel, room, stay, rate, availability, source and observation metadata. Define missing-value rules, matching criteria and time-series requirements.

  4. 4

Step 4 — Confirm the feasible output

If rights and technical feasibility are established, agree the obtainable fields, collection approach, validation checks, delivery format and any recurring schedule.

Depending on the verified scope, NenoData's existing services describe structured outputs including CSV, Excel, JSON and API-oriented records. Other delivery destinations may be considered where supported and agreed. This is a general project workflow, not confirmation of a live Ctrip API integration or production dataset.

Availability Data Access and Usage Limitations

A Ctrip hotel availability dataset must be based on an appropriate source and permitted usage rights.

  • 1

No prebuilt Ctrip dataset is confirmed

This page does not advertise an immediately downloadable inventory.

  • 2

    No verified NenoData partner entitlement

NenoData does not claim Ctrip-issued credentials or authorized access to the documented API.

  • 3

API specifications are not data licenses

Public documentation does not establish a right to collect, retain, redistribute or resell API output.

  • 4

Ctrip and Trip.com are not interchangeable

The international partner interface cannot be assumed to provide identical Ctrip China-market offers.

  • 5

    No unrestricted scraping permission

Relevant website terms, technical conditions and commercial agreements must be checked before collection.

  • 6

    Availability is channel-specific

An unavailable offer does not prove full hotel occupancy.

  • 7

    Room availability amounts need context

An API field does not automatically represent all vacant rooms at a hotel.

  • 8

    No fabricated historical data

Past snapshots cannot be assumed recoverable if no authorized archive exists.

  • 9

    No guaranteed comprehensive coverage

Hotels, room categories, rates and availability signals depend on the source and permitted scope.

  • 10

    No guaranteed real-time refresh

Frequency and latency are not established for a Ctrip-specific service.

  • 11

    No private reservation data

Customer identities, account information, payment details and private bookings are excluded.

  • 12

    No redistribution promise

Any publishing, resale or downstream usage must fit the relevant agreement.

  • 13

No platform-specific accuracy, pricing or SLA guarantee

    These terms require separate verification.

Trip.com's published consumer terms restrict commercial use of website materials without an appropriate license and describe the website as intended for domestic and private use. These restrictions provide relevant context for international Trip.com consumer access, but do not establish the full contractual position for every Ctrip China-market source.

The correct result of scoping may be an authorized dataset project, a narrower source assessment, evaluation of licensed alternatives or a decision not to proceed with direct collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Discuss Your Ctrip Availability Data Requirements

Need hotel availability information for channel research, pricing analysis, travel distribution or an APAC hospitality data project?

NenoData can assess your target sources, partner permissions, proposed availability fields, search context and delivery requirements against its established custom travel dataset workflow. Share the hotels or markets you want to study, how you define availability and whether your organization already holds licensed or partner-authorized access.

The objective is to determine what can be responsibly sourced and structured — not to imply that a complete Ctrip inventory or historical archive is already available.

Access rights, hotel coverage, available fields, historical records, refresh frequency and delivery remain subject to project scoping and confirmation.
