Trip.com Hotel Availability Dataset: Scope and Access

Trip.com Hotel Availability Dataset: Fields, API & Access Options

Need a Trip.com hotel availability dataset for rate benchmarking, room-offer research or OTA market analysis? Useful availability records require more than a hotel name and an available or unavailable label. Each observation needs its booking dates, guest configuration, room context, market, currency and capture time.

Trip.com has documented partner hotel availability interfaces, but technical documentation does not grant open API access or permission to commercially redistribute hotel inventory data.

NenoData supports custom travel datasets built around agreed sources, field definitions, validation requirements and delivery arrangements. A Trip.com-specific feed, historical dataset or recurring availability project must be assessed for authorization and technical feasibility before it can be confirmed.

No existing NenoData Trip.com availability dataset, partner API entitlement, historical archive or live inventory feed is pre-confirmed.

Trip.com vs Ctrip: Source and Market Differences

Trip.com is the international online travel booking brand of Trip.com Group Limited. The Group also operates Ctrip (携程), a separate consumer brand primarily associated with the Chinese travel market. Trip.com Group's official brand information distinguishes the two businesses and describes Trip.com as an international accommodation and travel booking service.

For hotel availability research, the distinction affects what data a buyer should request. The same hotel may appear across Trip.com, Ctrip or other booking channels, but that does not establish that each source offers identical room inventory, rates, booking conditions or availability.

Search results can depend on the point of sale, language, currency, stay dates, guest configuration, eligibility and agreements with accommodation providers.

A Trip.com hotel availability dataset should therefore identify its intended source explicitly:

  • International Trip.com consumer hotel offers, where properly authorized.
  • An approved Trip partner hotel availability API.
  • Buyer-held records from an authorized accommodation integration.
  • Independently licensed hotel or OTA data that addresses the required business question.

The official Trip.com Terms and Conditions identify Trip.com Travel Singapore Pte. Ltd. as the operator of the relevant consumer service. That consumer website relationship is distinct from the contractual access arrangements of any partner API.

This page concerns international Trip.com hotel availability. It does not assume that Trip's international offers replicate Ctrip's China-market inventory.

What Does Trip.com Hotel Availability Mean?

Hotel availability represents what a booking source reports as available for a particular search. It is not automatically a record of how many rooms are physically vacant inside a hotel.

For dataset planning, three levels are worth distinguishing.

Hotel-level status

A source may indicate that an accommodation property has at least one eligible offer, or that no eligible offer is returned for a particular search.

Room or rate-plan status

A specific room and associated rate conditions may be available for a defined stay and guest configuration even when other room categories are unavailable.

Observed availability

An availability response describes a source's reported position at a particular time. Its value may change as inventory allocations, bookings, restrictions and offers change.

Trip's officially documented Hotel Availability Checking API 2.0 includes Hotel_Availability, a hotel-level response field, and Holdroom, a room-availability amount. These fields describe the API's defined response model, not necessarily a property's complete physical inventory.

A hotel that returns unavailable for two adults over three nights may still have offers for another date, occupancy or booking channel. An unavailable result also does not establish that every room in the property is occupied. Booking-channel availability should not be presented as actual hotel occupancy.

For approved multi-OTA availability research, see NenoData's OTA Data Scraping Services.

Potential Trip.com Hotel Availability Dataset Fields

A useful hotel availability dataset should preserve the source record alongside its booking context and observation metadata.

The following is a proposed field dictionary, combining publicly documented partner API concepts with recommended dataset-processing metadata. It is not a real Trip.com data extract, a sample from NenoData or evidence that every field can be obtained.

The observation timestamp, authorization basis, normalization status and related processing fields are proposed dataset-design attributes. They should not be represented as native Trip.com response fields unless confirmed by the relevant interface.

Not every partner, source or market is guaranteed to provide the same attributes. Nulls should remain explicit, with unavailable or unsupported fields distinguished from genuine negative availability results.

For broader custom dataset planning, see Travel Datasets.

Trip.com Partner API and Authorized Access Options

Is there an official hotel availability API?

Yes. Trip publishes documentation for Hotel Availability Checking API 2.0, an interface intended for partner integrations. Its documentation describes HTTP POST requests, JSON request and response formats, hotel identifiers, travel dates, separate adult and child inputs, availability indicators and price components.

This published API specification does not mean the interface is open for anonymous collection or unrestricted commercial data resale.

How is partner access established?

Trip's official API self-testing tool identifies partner credentials and request settings, including AllianceID (AID), SID, UserKey, a partner-specific identification or signing configuration including icode where applicable, and generated request identifiers and authentication tokens.

The API documentation describes partner-issued credentials and signed requests. Credential possession, data entitlement, permitted retention and downstream use must be reviewed under the relevant partner arrangement. NenoData does not claim to hold Trip-issued credentials or to operate a production Trip.com hotel availability integration.

Hotel availability checking vs accommodation connectivity

A hotel availability checking API used by an authorized distribution partner should not be conflated with an accommodation connectivity interface. Connectivity platforms may serve accommodation suppliers or connectivity partners for property, rate or inventory management and distribution workflows. Such functionality is not automatically an accessible hotel-availability research feed for a data buyer.

Any Trip.com Connectivity arrangement must be assessed separately for its supported direction of data exchange, authorized counterparties, technical scope and commercial rights.

Authorized data access routes

  1. 1

    Official Trip partner API

An eligible business may be able to use its approved partner credentials and agreement to access designated hotel information for a permitted purpose. The scope must cover relevant endpoints, markets, retention, analytics and redistribution where requested.

  2. 2

Direct written permission or data license

A buyer requiring Trip.com consumer-channel content may need an appropriate commercial agreement or express authorization covering the requested collection and reuse.

  3. 3

Independently licensed hotel or OTA data

An approved third-party provider may supply relevant hotel rates or availability observations. Those records must retain their true origin and should not be labeled as Trip.com-direct observations without evidence.

  4. 4

    Buyer-provided authorized records

A business may already have permitted exports, partner observations or a licensed hotel dataset that needs normalization, matching, validation or restructuring. The buyer's applicable processing and sharing rights must still be reviewed.

Where none of these routes is suitable, the project may remain limited to feasibility assessment, field mapping or licensed alternative-source evaluation.

Availability Snapshots and Historical Data

A snapshot and a historical hotel availability dataset answer different business questions.

AttributeAvailability snapshotHistorical series
DefinitionAn authorized observation for defined properties, dates, rooms and guests at one point in time.A collection of observations retained over multiple capture times or obtained from an independently authorized archive.
Stay dates vs observation timeStay dates identify when the traveler wants accommodation.Observation timestamps identify when the source reported a particular offer or availability signal.
What it can showWhat the channel reported for that search at that moment. How channel availability changed over time for a future stay, where authorized and retained.
NenoData statusSubject to authorization and technical feasibility. No existing Trip.com archive verified. Requires prior authorized collection or licensed historical source.

Repeated observations about a future stay can document changes in channel availability over time, provided the collection and retention are authorized. They cannot, by themselves, prove the number of bookings, room cancellations, internal hotel occupancy or inventory across all distribution channels.

A historical dataset cannot be reconstructed simply by querying the current availability API. Past observations require an existing permitted archive or earlier authorized collection.

NenoData does not claim existing Trip.com availability history, a source-specific recurring feed or the ability to recreate observations that were never retained.

Comparing Hotel Rates Across Markets

Hotel availability and price comparisons become misleading when search conditions differ. A properly designed comparison should preserve:

  • Property and room identity: Which hotel, room category and rate plan are being assessed.
  • Stay dates and duration: Check-in, check-out and number of nights.
  • Guest configuration: Adults, children and age-related rules where relevant.
  • Point of sale: The booking market associated with the request.
  • Locale: The language or regional presentation context.
  • Currency: Original quoted currency and any documented conversion.
  • Nightly versus total price: Whether the amount covers one room night or the full stay.
  • Tax and fee treatment: Whether mandatory charges are included.
  • Inclusions and restrictions: Meals, payment requirements, cancellation conditions or promotional eligibility.
  • Availability status: The documented hotel or room-offer signal.
  • Observation time: When the price and availability were recorded.
  • Source: Whether the observation came from Trip.com, Ctrip or a licensed alternative channel.

The official API documentation distinguishes Price, BasePrice, TaxFee, TotalPrice, TotalBasePrice and TotalTaxFee, illustrating why price basis and tax treatment should be preserved.

For approved hotel pricing workflows, see Hotel Pricing Monitoring.

Use Cases for Authorized Trip.com Availability Data

Hotel availability research

Hospitality analytics teams may monitor whether selected room offers are bookable across authorized markets and stay dates. A structured dataset can support source-specific availability analysis while retaining the booking context associated with each observation.

Room rate benchmarking

Revenue managers may need to compare rates for equivalent stays, room categories and guest configurations. Where permitted, normalized observations can support rate analysis without confusing nightly rates with full-stay totals or mixing booking channels.

OTA market intelligence

Market intelligence teams may study how selected hotel properties and room offers appear across approved booking sources. Consistent property matching and source attribution help identify listing differences without assuming complete distribution coverage.

Room-offer comparison

Travel-tech businesses may need to compare room attributes, occupancy conditions, meal inclusions and rate-plan details across authorized records. Matching rules should account for differences in how channels label accommodation categories.

Recurring availability observation planning

Data engineers may want to design a future time series for defined hotels and stay windows. The project can establish a schema, observation schedule, retention rules and permitted source access before recurring collection begins.

How NenoData Would Assess the Dataset Requirement

NenoData's published Travel Dataset service describes custom dataset projects built around approved sources, markets, field definitions, sample validation and agreed delivery requirements. Its Hotel Data Scraping Services page covers general property, room, rate and availability fields where publicly visible, permissioned and within the agreed project scope. A Trip.com-specific enquiry would require a further source authorization and feasibility review.

  1. 1

Step 1 — Define the requirement

Specify international markets, intended Trip.com source or authorized feed, target hotels, room categories, stay dates, guest inputs, dataset history and intended business use.

  2. 2

Step 2 — Confirm source rights

Assess existing partner agreements, permitted API endpoints, written licenses, buyer-supplied records or independently authorized alternatives.

  3. 3

Step 3 — Design and validate the schema

Define hotel and room identifiers, availability semantics, rate components, point of sale, currency, timestamp logic, missing-value handling and property-matching rules.

  4. 4

Step 4 — Agree the feasible output

If access rights and technical feasibility are confirmed, establish extractable fields, validation requirements, approved observation schedules, output formats and delivery arrangements. If direct Trip.com access cannot be established, the outcome may instead be schema planning or an alternative-source assessment.

NenoData's general services describe CSV, Excel, JSON and API-oriented delivery, with additional destinations and recurring schedules available where supported and agreed. These capabilities do not constitute a Trip.com-specific production commitment.

Trip.com Data Access and Usage Limitations

A Trip.com hotel availability dataset must be evaluated against the rights and technical constraints of the actual source.

  • 1

    No verified existing NenoData dataset

This page does not represent a ready-to-download Trip.com hotel availability inventory.

  • 2

    No confirmed NenoData API credentials

Official partner documentation does not establish an active NenoData entitlement.

  • 3

    No unrestricted consumer website access

Trip.com's published terms place conditions on commercial website use and content reuse.

  • 4

    No automatic API rights

Endpoints, permitted purposes and downstream rights require the appropriate partner authorization.

  • 5

    No universal accommodation connectivity access

A supplier connectivity interface is not automatically an unrestricted data acquisition interface.

  • 6

    No full hotel inventory promise

Channel-level availability and room counts do not prove property-wide physical inventory.

  • 7

    No guaranteed global coverage

Regions, hotels, rooms and rate plans are subject to actual source rights and technical feasibility.

  • 8

    No guaranteed live freshness

Collection frequency and latency require explicit agreement.

  • 9

    No preexisting historical archive

Past snapshots cannot be assumed available or recreated.

  • 10

    No automatic commercial redistribution

Licenses must support any resale, publication or downstream distribution.

  • 11

    No private traveler records

Customer identities, personal bookings, payment details and restricted account records are outside this proposed research scope.

  • 12

No source-specific SLA, accuracy or price commitment

Such terms must be established separately, if feasible.

The Trip.com Terms and Conditions, updated August 25, 2026, describe the consumer website and its usage conditions. They should be reviewed alongside any relevant partner agreement, source-country terms and applicable licensing arrangements.

An appropriate feasibility review may result in an approved custom dataset, a narrower project, a licensed alternative-source recommendation or a decision that the requested direct collection is not viable.
